Engraved And ADA Signage

Engraved and ADA Signage Ensure Everyone Benefits from Your Messages

In certain cases, engraved and ADA signage are mandated by law. In many others, it is simply sensible and thoughtful to provide these signs. Either way, it's important to find a sign maker who can provide it so that your building is as accessible as possible.

ADA signage is used in places where it is important for safety or accessibility. It is often found on the walls near elevators, restrooms, entrance/exit doors, and the doors in commercial, retail, restaurants, government, schools and medical buildings.

Engraved signage is usually made by engraving into a piece of hard plastic. The engraving exposes a contrasting color within the plastic, which makes the engraved words very easy to see. This is great for those who have poor eyesight but who are not blind, so it is very popular within medical centers.

While high-contrast engraved signage is great for accessibility, its high visibility also makes it wonderful for advertising. Therefore, retail locations often use it to highlight things that they want to sell, and may add graphics to enhance its suitability for this purpose.

Among all of the types of signs available, none provide a more elegant look as a carved sign. Carved signs can be made of wood or sign foam. This alone makes them unique. The carving itself is done in one of two ways. With the most basic carving, the letters and designs are carved out of the material, leaving them at a lower plane than the rest of the material. Alternatively, if the lettering is to stand above the rest, the background material is carved down.

Carved signs can be done by hand or on a CNC Router. These options give the client a wide variety of finishes, looks and textures. Zodiac Signs use an automotive-grade paint which will last years without fading or upkeep. This will ensure the longevity of the sign.  Another impressive look that can be added to any carved sign includes custom colors or gold leaf
